Our Services

Senior Connections provides specialized transportation services, and maintains a Loan Closet of durable medical equipment. Additionally, Senior Connections provides “Information & Assistance” to seniors and caregivers to assist them in finding programs and services that may be available in Douglas County. The Specialized Transportation Program provides curb-to-curb transportation services for people who are age 55 and over, or people with a disability. Our vans are handicapped-accessible.

Specialized Transportation provides transportation to medical appointments, personal appointments, banking or shopping, visits with family or friends, or to run errands in town. Participants who need assistance are required to have another person escort them to their appointment, and that person may ride free of charge.

Rides are available Monday through Friday. Please call to schedule your transportation as soon as possible to assure availability. The fee for Specialized Transportation is $6.00 each way within the city limits of Superior, WI, and $9.00 each way to the areas of Essentia Health, Miller Dwan and St. Lukes medical facilities in Duluth, MN. Additional costs will apply to other areas within Duluth, MN. One-way fees to or from rural Douglas county are based on the distance from Superior, WI.
